About Kirk Diamond
I’m a Senior Backend Engineer and Technical Leader with over 15 years of experience designing and scaling high-performance software systems. My work blends deep hands-on engineering with strategic technical leadership, delivering robust platforms that power real-world, high-traffic applications.
Throughout my career, I’ve built everything from distributed data platforms and real-time IoT systems to ultra-low-latency APIs that handle billions of requests per day. I specialise in Go (Golang) development and have led teams through major architectural transformations—from monoliths to cloud-native microservices—while maintaining a relentless focus on performance, reliability, and clean engineering practices.
My experience spans both startup and enterprise environments. I’ve served as a CTO, Principal Engineer, and Head of Development, helping organisations scale their technology and their teams. Whether I’m optimising concurrency in a critical backend service, implementing resilient cloud infrastructure, or mentoring engineers, I stay deeply hands-on and committed to building systems that are as elegant as they are effective.
Beyond engineering, I’m passionate about innovation and problem-solving. I enjoy exploring emerging technology, experimenting with edge computing, and finding smarter ways to move data efficiently and securely. I thrive in high-impact environments where ambitious ideas meet real-world constraints—and where thoughtful engineering can make a measurable difference.
If you’re looking to collaborate on complex backend challenges, architecture design, or high-performance Go development, I’d love to hear from you.
